Experience the life-changing impact of Sister-Corps projects and discover the profound difference you can make in the lives of others.

“The impact of participating in a Sister-Corps project is tremendous. The experience is life-changing.”

Barbara B., 2022

Who Can Volunteer?

If you are a female over 21 years of age, in reasonably good health, with a deep desire to help others and a willingness to be part of a team, you are welcome to sign up as a volunteer.

Why Volunteer?

While not everyone can volunteer due to family, job demands, or physical limitations, Sister-Corps provides opportunities that accommodate limited skills, stamina, finances, or time. First-time volunteers often express eagerness to participate again, and our returning volunteer rate is exceptional.

“The thought, the love, and the kindness will always be remembered and shared… long after you have returned to your homes.”

Cathie, 2019

Benefits of Volunteering

To be up close to someone who has endured devastation, hear their stories, and help them back on their feet feeds the soul.

Propose a Project

Sister-Corps values suggestions for projects from volunteers or others who identify needs. Use our decision tree below to determine if your idea aligns with our mission.

🌟 Presentation Decision Tree 🌟

Initial Questions

  • ✅ Does this need IMMEDIATE attention on-site?
  • ✅ Does this project serve only an individual?
  • ✅ Is this entering an area of new devastation? Are First Responder Skills required?
  • ✅ Is infrastructure destroyed?
  • ✅ Does this require entering an area with ongoing devastation predicted or likely?

If YES to any of the above questions, it most likely does NOT fit into the existing Sister-Corps mission, protocol, or skills base.
PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER IDEAS.

If NO, proceed to the next section.

Secondary Questions

  • 🔍 Does it serve a targeted population (e.g., recovery, disaster, environmental issues, women and children, underserved populations)?
  • 🔍 Would Sister-Corps need to mobilize teams to provide recovery relief to areas affected by disaster?
  • 🔍 Does this provide ongoing support for an area previously identified and served by Sister-Corps?
  • 🔍 Does this provide short-term relief needs to local communities?

If the idea makes it through these questions, the project idea should be further explored with the Sister-Corps Board.
