Rapid Response

Rapid Response
Although we are not “first responders”, Sister-Corps finds ways to do “rapid response” and help in the earliest days after the incident. We partnered with others the for delivery of desperately needed health and hygiene items to the Navajo Nation in the Four Corners during the height of COVID-19 by sending thousands of dollars in requested items directly to the Navajo distribution centers.
…and when we couldn’t get to Louisiana after Hurricane Laura, we sent in supplies for First Responders and survivors within days of the destructive flooding in Eastern Kentucky, a “lightning” team went to Vicco and distributed water, sack lunches, and hygiene items to the survivors and first responders and “mucked out” homes.
Other rapid response efforts have gone to the Houma Nation in Louisiana.

“Just when we thought no one else was coming for help… just when we had given up… here came this group of women who really know how to work, and they also listened to us talk about what happened.” Linda, Kentucky 2022
